Harmony Hammerheads
The Harmony Hammerheads Swim Team is a volunteer organization that offers recreational swimming for our local community specifically designed to teach, train, and compete in all strokes and distances, and to support the long-term development of each swimmer. Our facility is located in Harmony on the Lakes in Holly Springs, GA.
Harmony Swim Team (HST), also known as the Harmony Hammerheads, is an organization of families within the Harmony on the Lakes neighborhood development whose purpose is to organize swimmers from the ages of 5 to 18 years of age to participate as a formal member of the Atlanta Swim Association. HST is organized exclusively for charitable and educational purposes led by our Board of Directors.
President – Genevieve McGarry
The President (a.k.a. Swim Team Coordinator) shall have full responsibility and authority for management of the day-to-day operations of the HST. The President shall be an ex-officio member of all committees and shall have the general powers and duties of management and supervision usually vested in the office of president of a corporation. The President will call and preside at meetings of the HST Board of Directors, ensure that all members of the Board fulfill their duties, interview candidates for coaching positions, and serve as Point of Contact (POC) for all matters concerning the Swim Team.
Treasurer – Jacob Hedrick
The Treasurer shall be the chief financial officer of the HST and shall have responsibility for the custody of the HST funds and securities, to keep full and accurate records and accounts of receipts and disbursements in books belonging to the HST and shall keep the monies of the HST in a separate account in the name of the Harmony Swim Team. The Treasurer shall provide to the President and Directors, at the regular meetings of the Board, or whenever requested by the Board, an account of all financial transactions and of the financial condition of the HST. The Treasurer will collect all money for team registration fees and will be responsible for any Sponsorship contributions. The Treasurer will also be responsible for paying vendors, coaches, and any other expense items related to HST as well as filing all annual tax and compliance documents.
Volunteer Coordinator – Lauren Cochell
The Volunteer Coordinator is responsible for organizing, training, and managing the Parent/Guardian volunteers for the various volunteer positions at each Swim Meet. The Volunteer Coordinator is required to provide adequate training to each volunteer prior to swim meets. The Volunteer Coordinator must attend all Swim Meets and oversee volunteer performance to ensure each position is worked correctly. The Swim Team Coordinator shall collect information on availabilities and skills, produce schedules, assign responsibilities, coordinate with opposing teams, communicate frequently with volunteers, disseminate information for upcoming Swim Meets, keep detailed records of volunteers’ information and assignments, and ensure the purpose of the volunteer positions are clearly communicated.
Merchandise Coordinator – Chris McGarry
The Merchandise Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the planning and implementation of merchandising strategies. The Merchandise Coordinator shall create shirt and merchandise designs, negotiate procurement costs, oversee ordering and purchasing, monitor stock levels, price products, and manage the overall sales and marketing strategy.
Concession Coordinator – Melissa Bentley
Concession Coordinator is responsible for organizing concessions at designated home Swim Meets. The Concession Coordinator shall train, supervise, and motivate assigned volunteers to achieve sales revenue. The Concession Coordinator is responsible for purchasing all food items, storing concession items, managing inventory, and sales. The Concession Coordinator is also responsible for setting up the concession area and cleanup at home Swim Meets.
Practice Coordinator – Open Position
The Practice Coordinator is responsible for coordinating practice schedules with the coaching staff and acting as the parent liaison during HST practices. The Practice Coordinator shall be available during most practices and will help address parent questions and concerns so that the coaching staff can focus on the swimmers. The Practice Coordinator shall also ensure HST equipment is properly stored and secured and is responsible for notifying parents of any swim practice schedule changes or cancellations.
Website Coordinator – Marla Gilreath
The Website Coordinator is responsible for registration oversight and website design and operation. The Website Coordinator shall ensure online registration page is updated and operating correctly, provide signage and digital media messages to communicate HST registration details to community, and provide registration reporting to Board of Directors when requested. The Website Coordinator is also responsible for regularly updating and managing the Harmony Hammerheads swimtopia website as well as the Harmony Hammerheads Facebook page.
Special Event Coordinator – Shandy Arwood
The Special Event Coordinator is responsible for team related social gatherings, kick off party, and end of season banquet. The Special Event coordinator shall secure venues, negotiate pricing, order and coordinate event activities, provide event communications to HST families, and preside over all event responsibilities.
Sponsorship Coordinator – Danielle Beatty
The Sponsorship Coordinator is responsible for all fundraising and sponsor relationships. The Sponsorship Coordinator shall promote sponsorship and fundraising through cold calling local businesses as well as utilizing social media to attract new Sponsors. The Sponsorship Coordinator shall also maintain relationships with existing Sponsors and is responsible for ordering sponsor signage and meeting the tiered Sponsor obligations.
